nosotros, nosotras TENEMOS = we have or have we
vosotros,vosotras TENÉIS = you have or have you (familiar)(plural)
ustedes TIENEN = you have or have you (formal)(plural)
ellos TIENEN = they have or have they (mas)
ellas TIENEN = they have or have they (fem)

 

let`s make a few sentences in the present tense
with the subject pronoun for emphasis this should explain them to you.

 

TENER = TO HAVE

SENTENCES

tiene un coche grande = can mean you,he,or she has a big car
usted tiene un coche grande = you have a big car
¿tiene usted un coche grande? = have you a big car?
¿tiene él un coche grande? = has he a big car?
él tiene un coche grande = he has a big car
tengo un coche grande = I have a big car (is the same as the next line)
yo tengo un coche grande = I have a big car
ustedes tienen una casa grande = you have a big house (plural) (formal)
vosotros tenéis una casa grande = you have a big house (plural) (familiar)

 

You can use QUE with TENER and the infinitive of another verb TENER QUE = TO HAVE TO

 

tengo que ir a la ciudad hoy = I have to go to the city today
él tiene que trabajar hoy = he has to work today
