PRESENT TENSE
Spanish verbs, there are three types of verbs, (AR , ER , IR)
They have to be conjugated, (BROKEN-DOWN)
there are seven simple tenses and seven compound tenses, so you have to start at the beginning the
( present indicative)(presente de indicativo)
HABLAR = TO SPEAK
SINGULAR
HABLAS = YOU SPEAK (familiar) |
HABLA = YOU SPEAK (formal) |
HABLA = HE SPEAKS (OR) SHE SPEAKS |
PLURAL
HABLÁIS = YOU SPEAK (pl) (familiar) |
HABLAN = YOU SPEAK (OR) THEY SPEAK (pl) (formal) |
So now we have to try and make a short sentence, in the present tense with |
HABLAR = TO SPEAK
¿Con quién desea hablar? = With whom do you wish to speak? |
¿Habla inglés? = Do you speak English? |
Hablo un poco de español. = I speak a little bit of Spanish. |
Habla español = He speaks Spanish. |
Nosotros hablamos español en la clase. = We speak Spanish in the class. |
¿Hablan la misma lengua? = Do they speak the same language? |
COMER = TO EAT
SINGULAR
COMES = YOU EAT (familiar) |
COME = YOU EAT OR SHE EATS |
PLURAL
COMÉIS = YOU EAT (PL)(familiar) |
COMEN = YOU EAT OR SHE EATS (PL)(formal) |
So now we have to try and make a short sentence, in the present tense with |
COMER = TO EAT
No como nada con carne. = I don't eat anything with meat. |
¿Comen ellos a las doce? = Do they eat at twelve o'clock? |
no comes pescado = You don't eat fish. ( familiar ) |
¿Qué deseas comer? = What would you like to eat?. |
Él come mucho = He eats a lot.. |
VIVIR = TO LIVE
SINGULAR
VIVES = YOU LIVE (formal) |
VIVE = HE LIVES (OR) SHE LIVES |
PLURAL
VIVÍS = YOU LIVE (pl) (familiar) |
VIVEN = YOU LIVE (OR) THEY LIVE (pl) (formal) |

VIVIR = TO LIVE
Vivo en Londres. = I live in London. |
¿Dónde vives? = Where do you live? (familiar) |
Vivimos en una casa grande. = We live in a big house. |
pedro vive en una casa grande = Pedro lives in a big house |
IR = TO GO (THIS IS AN IRREGULAR VERB )
SINGULAR
VAS = YOU GO (OR) ARE YOU GOING (familiar) |
VA = YOU GO (OR) ARE YOU GOING (formal) |
VA = HE GO`S (OR) HE IS GOING |
VA = SHE GO`S (OR) SHE IS GOING |
PLURAL
VAMOS = WE GO (OR) WE ARE GOING |
VAIS = YOU GO (OR) ARE YOU GOING (pl) (familiar) |
VAN = YOU GO (OR) ARE YOU GOING (pl) (formal) |

Voy de compras = I am going shopping.= |
